A Wisconsin Department of Corrections inmate escaped from custody while being transported Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Anthony Stephenson slipped away from a transport van in the area of Interstate 43 and Atkinson Avenue, a spokesperson said.
A deadly shooting this morning on Milwaukee's south side
A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and wounded on Milwaukee’s north side. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
A portion of the freeway is closed following an early-morning police chase. The closure is on eastbound I-43 between 124th Street and 108th Street.

Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened early Monday morning, April 9. According to police, around 12:50 a.m. a 24-year-old man walked into a local hospital suffering from a non-fatal gunshot injury.

According to police, a 43-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Sentra when she was struck by an SUV and lost control and crashed near West Appleton and Melvina Avenues. Truck crashes into Amtrak train in Dodge County
Milwaukee police are asking for the publicu2019s help to identify a group of people wanted in the armed robbery of a United States Postal Service carrier. The robbery happened around 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6 near North 64th and Silver Spring Drive. Officials say after the robbery occurred, the group of four suspects fled the scene in a silver four-door BMW with Florida license plates.
Police say they have the stabbing suspect in custody. It is a 17-year-old male. Police say that the suspects knew the victims and that the public is not in any danger. rn
