A 21-year-old woman died early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Blue Mounds, Dane County officials said. Emergency crews responded around 1:15 a.m. to the crash on County Road ID near North Road, according to a release.
Crews are responding to reports of a rollover crash on Madison’s far west side. Dane County officials said the crash was reported around 6:35 a.m. at the intersection of Raymond Road and McKenna Boulevard.

One Madison police officer was hurt during a fight with a man who police say was drunk. Officers were called to the 300 block of West Doty Street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday to help a man who was reportedly screaming that he needed protective armor. When officers reached the 19-year-old man, they determined he was incapacitated and took him into protective custody. They took him to detox, where the fight broke out.

The 42-year-old initially pleaded no contest to charges that he killed his mother and left her body in a garbage can at the curb of her home. The defendant had hoped the judge would find him not guilty by reason of mental disease of defect.
